LibDem - A retired head teacher who has lived in north-west Norfolk for more than 15 years.
Indy - An Army Infantry veteran and an ex-Metropolitan Police CID officer.
Tory - A former army officer who served with the Parachute Regiment for 34 years and is a member of the Ministry of Justice's War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Tribunal.
Labour - Has worked in education and social work and was Norfolk's former director of children's services between 2015 and 2016, having been assistant director from 2013 to 2015.
Green - Has been a Norwich City Council councillor since 2015 and was former lord mayor of the city.
I would normally go for the Indy as I think the police should have as little to do with party politics as possible, but a quick Google shows he's ex-UKIP “The vast majority of these sexual attacks on women across the country are carried out by migrants, many of them are illegal - African or ethnic minority people." type.

Who will then bury a report into the wide-ranging failings of GMP until after the election, calling out anyone who's calling for it's publication now as "playing party politics". Not maybe that it might be important to voters to understand what their PCC's role may have been in those failings...He'll be a shoe-in again though sadly.

I will certainly be voting as I imagine the new PCC will have a significant role in hiring the new Chief Constable.

He's not getting my vote. He's been almost silent for 4 years, gets an extra 12 months in office due to CV and guess what, weekly press conferences. He'll be a shoe-in again though sadly.

Our last one was I think called Katherine - didn't hear anything about her after she won.
Bedfordshire has the cost of a whole election for what wasn't a job about a decade ago.
The current West Midlands PCC won't be getting my vote.
He failed to quietly dispose of the fines handed out to 3 representatives of the families of those killed and injured in the 1974 pub bombings in Birmingham.
3 people held a peaceful and distanced vigil on the anniversary of the murders outside West Mids Police HQ.
These people have been poorly served by West Mids Plod (and HMG) over the years, this just puts the icing on the cake!

Ms Hambleton is standing for PCC - she has my vote.
Let's hope Human Rights legislation trumps the fines.

There has to be some democratic accountability and oversight of Police, and the old Police Authorities had the capacity to be far more ineffective!Our Police Authority would get very excised and involved in the minutiae of, say, disposing of the odd seized digital camera, but almost everything else would be left to slide. At least our current PCC seems willing to kick a little ass occasionally.
