Hi all,

I currently have a 2012 Panamera Turbo. I’m looking at upgrading to a 2013-2016 991. A lot of the models are around a similar price bracket.
I initially wanted to get thoughts on the GTS vs Turbo (or Turbo S)? Which is considered the better driver’s car. Which has better residuals and is more desirable?
The GTS is the last of the flat 6 3.8L however the turbos seem to hold value really well.
I’ll be using it for a short commute (2miles) to the train station (outside of covid) otherwise it’s very much only used for social and weekend use.
Thanks in advance!!

loads of threads on the differences. The GTS is a better weekend car, the turbo better as a daily. GTS is fast, turbo is hugely fast - both are faster than you will need. Id say the GTS has the better interior with the alcantara etc.

Both are desirable.

If you buy a Turbo you will inevitably wish you had bought a Turbo S. Fast but somewhat detached they are a great package especially as a daily. Both are spec sensitive and proper Porsche history is essential. Lighter colours are slower sellers on the TTS but npt on the GTS.

Residually the Turbo S will probably lose slightly more ££ but values are relatively at all time highs on both due to restricted supply especially better spec 1 owner and decent mileage OPC cars. The days of horrific depreciation as on 997 Turbos back in the day has long gone.

As ever drive both and decide which you prefer.

Residuals are strong on the GTS - bought my Gen 1 GTS for 80k with 14k miles in October 19.

It's just been sold by an OPC with 33k miles for 73.5k.

Prices are looking quite inflated at the moment as limited supply for the demand.
I’m going to test drive both as I don’t feel there’s a lot between them.
The turbo seems better flat out straight lines but GTS will handle better.
