DVD Recorders

Search isn't working :(, so can anyone recommend a simple DVD recorder? Already got Sky+160, just need a burner to go with it....

Not quite - the sky+160 already has a 160gb hard drive on it, so I only need a straight forward burner, but most I've found seem to have the HD (and the price associated with that).

I took it back after 2 weeks and got a Sony. Job done.

'nother recommendation for Sony Beats philips hands down. pioneers aren't bad though - they can deal with DVD-RAM.

Why? Was about to buy their new dvd-recorder-surround sound-does everything it says on the tin-mothership kit. It would be great as we already have a Philips tv, and so one less remote to confuse the parents (mind you, it's coming with me when I move in October), but I have a Philips widescreen as well. Is the Sony THAT much better?
