Hi guys,

Basically one of my alloys was scratched quite badly the other day so I took the car to a quite reliable wheel refurb company local and ask for the one alloy to be refurbed. They are pretty much gloss black but they do look slightly matte I suppose. I asked to check the one alloy would look the same as the others and he didn’t seem 100% confident and said he could do all 4 for £200 cash. ( I have a BMW 435i 2015)

I have since said yes but now thinking if I should had just got the 1 done? Although there is a chance it could look quite odd right? It would of been £66 vat inc for just 1 so all 4 seemed the sensible solution.

There is no point getting three more alloys re-painted for no reason.

Maybe just get the damaged on and the one on the same side done.

I’ve already agreed to get all 4 done but I suppose I could call them up. Just feels wasted but at the same time if one looks different to the others it’ll just look weird as heck

With that wheel design you'll be back there to get the others done at some point anyway, so i;d just pay for the one & see how it turns out.

As above, those wheels are ridiculous, the tyres look painted on. I'd imagine that even the most careful driver could end up with damage on those though no fault of their own, so I'd just get the one done as you will likely be getting more repairs in the future.

I’d get a subscription from him. As said I bet you need a weekly wheel refurb! Must be dreadful to drive on.

Haha. They are all perfect apart from the one, it was my fault I did the damage to the one in the pic. Back end came out a junction and hit a curb quite hard, I’m surprised there isn’t more damage to it. (It’s the back right alloy)

I’ve gone ahead with all 4 purely due to making sure they all match and I thought £200 wasn’t too bad

No it’s not. That’s the rim protector doing its job.

Those wheels wouln't survive running a curb once on a track, you are going to be his best customer, Christmas card level...

With the evidence supplied he should at least be going to the Xmas party come December?

Lol didn’t realise how many people who own tractor wheels would make it their mission to take the piss. Alloys are personal preference at the end of the day and I knew curbing would be an issue which doesn’t bother me because normally I don’t. I was just a bit of an idiot on a wet day and let the back end come out and hit a curb. I suppose some are better at not curbing than others

Good point.

(It’s not done a good job this time, but it’s had a hard life... hehe )

Cheap tyres probably didn’t help. I don’t know why people buy a performance car such as this and then fit crap tyres. The mind boggles.
