I have a Lenovo tablet, it is a few years old, and the battery still lasts about a week (this is fine for me), but when it was new it charged in 4 hours, now it takes over 5 hours! no probs, I care more about the battery life when I am using it, so a little longer charging is something I can live with.

However, my Samsung phone (few years old) takes less time to charge, but that charge doesn't last as long, this makes me very unhappy.

I also have had several Laptops where the battery is useless after a few years.

So what changes in a battery as it ages?

- do the charge demons get tired, so they lose their grip on the charge electrons more easily, or do their backs get sore, so they can't pick they can't pick them up any more?
- does the battery become contaminated by people talking scensoredt down the phone at me?
- or does the manufacturer send an instruction down the phone to make the phone into a militant worker?

How can I change/reduce this, I have been told that modern phone batteries don't suffer degradation by the number of charge cycles as some older batteries do. So charging from flat to full isn't necesssary... I am not so sure getmecoat

Anyone a powerfully built director of a battery company, that can get a highly stressed boffin (preferably in a white coat), so sort this out?

I would like to understand Cheers beer
