Local gym instructor's car decision. 430D or 435D?
Discussion
Basically he loves the look of the cars and economy is important as he will be doing 20,000+ miles a year. He has had BMWs, trusts them and wants another. Budget is £20K or a tad more.
2 cars on sale in Norfolk. A 430D fully loaded with great spec., low mileage and no faults. A 435D X Drive with slightly higher miles, wheels need a refurbishment and a lower spec. Both within budget.
Is the 435D worth getting in your view over the lower power car? Is the engine better by enough to warrant getting it?
DOH, title should read 435D.

Seems I've told him wrong!! I like the idea of 313 bhp and an easy 40 bhp more available. There again I've always gone for the higher power version of anything. I told him to go for the 435d!
In truth I'm sure a 430d is quick enough especially with a remap.
The engine in the 435d is a belter to be fair and I had it in a 640d. In truth I'm sure a 430d is quick enough especially with a remap.

The Xdrive ride & body control isn't as good as the RWD 430d so that would be my pick, but you can improve the 435d with a set of springs though. In truth I'm sure a 430d is quick enough especially with a remap.
