Dear all, it looks like prices for good example of early 997.1 C2S with app. 50/60k miles have increased by almost £5000 over the last 18 months. Am I correct? What is your view on the current price vs. future price, are the prices going to stabilize as they are today, or they will go down again resuming the depreciation curve?
Thanks all.

Virtually everything from Fiestas to Ferraris have seen prices strengthen.
The big uncertainty is how long might it last?

You mean before it stabilises or before it goes down again?
I read in another post on this forum that someone said that the 997.1 will be eventually a £20,000 car. I find it hard to believe, but not a lot of people commented on his views. Would you agree?

That’s the point - no one knows, and some commentators have a vested interest in prices going up, and others in prices going down.

Personally, I think, short term, they should stay firm, but long term, the demise of ICE will see prices fall.

I’ve noticed this too, I had the option of a low mileage 987.1 and high mileage 997.1 but decided with the 987 as it’s a more dedicated sports car. From an investment perspective I should have probably gone with the 997. From what I’ve seen the 997’s have gone up a good 20% just this year

It’s been said on here and elsewhere, the price of everything seems to be creeping up. Some are claiming this is because of free money and Furlough ? I’ve personally never had any free money and have worked thro the pandemic.

I think it’s driven by a need to fulfil desires, whether that’s houses, cars or where you buy your food ?
There a lot of people selling houses that they’re not happy living in. Finding a house that’s worth moving for is more difficult and are scarce. Likewise car sales. All used prices have crept up right across the board. New sales are down because the the demand is not there. Sat at home working has made many company cars worthless, paying hundreds of pounds every month for a car to sit on your drive makes little sense. Naturally people look at what else they could run as a 2nd car or as their own work vehicle.

If you think 911’s are creeping up have a look at VW Vans 😳
T5’s & 6’s have rocketed due to people fitting them out themselves using you tube tutorials.
