Enjoying the grind and challenge.

The game comes with lots of complexity and options and occasionally you are frustrated because you don't understand why certain things are not compatible but overall it is very good. Anyone else?

I played it through a few times to enjoy the NG+ difficulty scaling. I really liked the yokai command and beast counter system they put in the game, I thought that was the cherry on top of Nioh's already great combat system.

The story was better than the first game too, even though the protagonist is silent, anything is an improvement over that goofy Irish bloke we were forced to play as previously.

Tried, twice, love the concept, really want to "get it" but can't get the timing right for block/parry. I've just wrapped up Ghost of Tsushima in hard mode went back to Nioh thinking "come on then lets have it" and got my thing handed to me pretty quickly.

I'm not giving up just timing out in The Division 2.

Glad to see some others are having a crack. I tend not to block very often, mostly dodge a bit like bloodborne. Time my attack for them as they advance and then skip round them or away from them when they attack.

I played Nioh 1 but never got the hang of the Ki recovery through R1 (stance recovery). As such, I played it like dark souls and that got me away with it for a long time but eventually I was at such a disadvantage just waiting for my Ki to slowly recover that I got blasted and gave up on a boss fight quite far in.

This time I am using Ki recovery nearly every single fight with every type of enemy, so I am dying to fire up my Nioh 1 and see if I can smash the boss that scuppered me back when.

It is worth watching a video like "things I wish I had known when I started Nioh 2" and make sure you aren't making it more hand than necessary.

As for NG+ etc, I have cleared area one and two entirely and now on to the third. So I think I have a long way to go. I just tend to complete one mission a night and hang up the controller. Great game though and the R2 and O parry mechanic is fun. Like said, some of those attacks are much easier to parry than others.

This build is a very Onmoyo (magic) build, which is unusual for me, but it's keeping me entertained.

Cheers
