PayPal payment pending?

I sold something recently as a private sale via a forum, with the seller paying me via my PayPal request. I forgot to request payment as friends:family, so they payed me with buyer protection costing me a few ££.

Their funds are showing as ‘pending’. How long does it normally remain in this status before clearing into my account?
