Power steering conversion?

Who said don’t do it ? Look at dc electronics microsteer system , changed mine from a pas to electrical, involved fitting a manual rack and the microsteer system and it works spot on , you can adjust how much assistance from low to big against wheel speed. No noisy pas pumps , dripping hoses and blown rack seals.

Just build your biceps a bit. Had mine without PS and with extra camber and toe around central London without a spot of bother. Cash saved pays for a night out at Ronnie's and some go-faster bits
Absolutely, never felt the need for PAS, if anything, just put a couple of extra PSI in the front tyres

With the Dc Electronics kit, you can do this. It really is a smart product. I'm just wondering how hard it's going to be to find a location and fit the pump. I'm assuming somewhere inhospitable like the footwell.
My late car has the wiper unit stuffed up there somewhere so I think you could make room but yes very inhospitable
Hi Neal, yeah but your young and hard
It does feel more connected no question.
See for me I quite like the cart type steering, the more it weights up the more the tyres are loaded and a very clear indicator of when your really scuffing the tyres.
I couldn’t feel that with pas the same way.
Same with the brakes you feel the judder right up the column informing you your about to lock up.
I think you re learn it with PAS. so no real effects but from a confidence point of view I find PS to be a bit vague if driving to such extremes. It’s about when your deliberately going so fast at a corner you induce some understeer to slow or effect turn in. Not the sort of thing you will be doing to often but it’s a lot easier to do with direct feel steering.
The only issue is the strength it takes but then I like to see sweat after a hard drive. It’s cricket you know
Truth is PS is just as effective as it reacts faster but the lack of feel is there for some.

Yes I barely noticed any steering input but it still turned
Very accurate which is what matters the most probably.
Hey Sportmotive are building two or is it three trackday cars, they have got Tuscan race car panels made up and going to bond them onto an S tub. Rv8 engine, there evolution chassis and hoping for about 950 kg.
You will then be able to hire it or go to their arranged track days and have a guest drive sort of thing....
Should be a blast.
