bu88er !
Got home after a lovley cruise around the Northants country roads and the car started `missing`. Stuck it into my garage. Car starts fine, then has no power through any gears ! aagghhh !!
Mechanic friend on route to have a look. (8.25pm)
Any thoughts guys & girls ?

That's what happens when you buy a car off Hoover
Not really, this unfortunately is part of the joy of running a 15 year old car, I'm sure it will be sorted easily.
Plug leads, throttle pot, Dizzy or something simple like that.

Mechanic thinks coil ?
Ah well, will try that first........fingers crossed.

Welded?

Stronger than the usual glued together TVRs then.

Why do they still smell of glue after 15 years?

New coil bought at 10am and fitted by me at 10.30am

Result = car back on the road !

Car now runs very smooth indeed. Before, it didnt like running at low speeds in high gear (car spluttered and kangaroo`d) now car picks up immediately ....seems to run quieter too. (not too quiet ;-) !)

All for a £14.99....oh, and some advice from my mechanic last night.

I went into A1 Motor store in Kingsthorpe
Tel. 01604-715021 and asked for a part i found on a website.
They sold me a `parallel` part

Went to Central auto spare in the end they charged me £28.00 for lucas equivalent ,
i must learn to be more patient

Have to say matey that if the`d charged me £60 I would of just paid it ! ;-)

No idea how much parts cost !!!!!
