Love the GT1!
This era of cars is fantastic, I wonder if anyone has the holy trinity of late 90s GT1s: Mercedes CLK GTR, Porsche GT1, McLaren F1
And then the super rare/oddbals like the Lotus Elise GT1, Nissan R390, Toyota GT One, Panoz, Lister, Venturi etc

They’ve been trailing that on social media Might sound heretical here but am still not at all convinced that the gt1 or clk gtr would be any good to drive on the road at all. As objects of significance, they are obviously historic but for the actual use ie driving, the F1 (for all that car I'm told has some unusual handling quirks) would be incomparably superior. Possibly different on track for those 2 cars but again on road tyres at road legal ride height, you're pretty much missing most of what made the 96/97 race cars special.

you might well be right about that - they do not really look like road cars - but god would I love to have a CLK GTR in my garage to take to a few track days a year ....Tricky question.
As nice as the 918 is, it would be the last pic of the three for me.
I think the GT1 would trump the CGT from a purely ‘special event’ type car every time you approached it. The direct link to an actual Le Mans race car is a strong appeal. Just imagine a road trip to Le Mans each year in that!
But the CGT is very special also. Probably more useable and practical for road driving. Links with Le Mans also, but not the same as the GT1.
I think I’d have to hope the euro millions win was big enough to buy both!

I think in reality the 918 would probably be the best if you were doing lots of miles, esp driving around europe etc As nice as the 918 is, it would be the last pic of the three for me.

Let's be honest, a 992 gt3 is a far better, accessible and ultimately a faster real world car.A gt1 owner probably has a gt3 for fun and thrills. Gt1 is ultimate speedy cars and coffee car
Wow ... just watched the first two videos and so great to see these cars being described as-if to a prospective owner, and then driven.
Tough question for the dream machine .. I might try to persuade myself that my 996.1 GT3 CS is a continuation of the GT1 DNA (996 version) at relative pocket money cost .. but I would really like one of the 2 RHD 964RS 3.8's .... (in the world).
Small, exclusive, a piece of engineering innovation and jewellery ... so understated and so useable.
Which is why of the three I would go for the McLaren F1. The nearest I've got is the engine in my BMW 850 CSi ...
