Hi all

Maybe an obvious question, but I have just had the roof off/stereo turned off and not too noisy with the exhaust and heard a strange metal type clunking from the front near side wheel area as I drove.

It can only be heard when the wheel hits biggish holes in the road, but the car certainly shakes and the noise is more obvious.

So, could it be the shocks? or is there something more worrying happening? Any advice before I seek a mechanics thoughts would be helpful.

Cheers, as usual

Boris

Dunno but avoiding biggish holes in the road might help

Maybe one of the bushes needs replacing - or, the spring maybe rubbing on the damper. Only solution is to take wheel off and a have a nosey for anything that looks wrong.

Could be an anti-roll bar drop link/bush. Does it do it more when one side hits a bump, rather than both, if you understand what I mean? Are you on standard shocks?

Cheers apache, that is a very good idea

Although if I did that round Sheffield I would have to drive on the pavements, and for some reason people don't take too kindly to that.

Anyhow, does look like it may be something to do with the anti-roll bar (well done BB), but cant be looked at for 2 weeks by the men who know (they have told me its nothing serious though!!)

Cheers for the pointers, as usual a very helpful bunch on here
