I'm going to be sending a car to WBAC shortly - it has 4 months of MOT left and is a cheap car - circa £3,000. Would it be worthwhile sticking a fresh MOT on it? Presumably at this price point the length of MOT has a baring on the price they offer.

I would have thought four months would be fine..

Can you do a second quote with a similar car with an new mot? Might be able to find one on auto trader if you need to put in a reg number? Not sure how much of it is automated!

When I sold a car to wbac I'm sure they required 6 months remaining. I got my car mot'd and drove straight to wbac after. It could have changed since as it was a few years back. I paid something like £20/30 with a voucher offer and was confident it would pass.

Unless you edited the assumptions and stated it has four months rather than the six plus they assumed, I would prepare to be knocked down on price when you get there

I thought they had to have 6 months MOT, anything less and the price would be reduced.

If you look at their T&C's they assume 6 months or more. But there is a drop down box on the data you input to change it to less. I imagine it's just another way for them to chip you down if you don't have the six months.

The other thing you have to watch is tyres. I think they wanted 4mm on all of them last time I used them.
