Chinese programmes and continuity
Discussion
I’ve been watching some Chinese dramas recently (starting to learn Mandarin).
Just seen the most bizarre lack of continuity - worst I’ve ever seen. One of the main characters has a red GT3 (seen in previous episodes). He goes to pick up another main character. They walk towards his car as he is going to give her a lift. It is a red Boxster. Mmmm. Perhaps he has a red Boxster and a GT3. But no. Cut to next scene when he is driving and the Boxster has morphed into a GT3. Following scene is the talking at the end of the journey...standing by the GT3. WTF?
Perhaps they filmed the scenes in different days and the company supplying the cars just sent a “red Porsche” on the basis that no one would know the difference!

That's not exactly an unusual problem. Line of Duty did far worse with their BMWs and you'll see it elsewhere too - sometimes because they think it won't matter and sometimes just by cockup.
One continuity glitch I can't avoid seeing is in Limitless where they obviously cocked up the filming sequence and couldn't replace part of the set so just hoped you wouldn't notice - the steel apartment door has bullet holes in it at times when it shouldn't, much earlier in the scene.

China and other similar countries don't have the depth of filmmaking expertise to recognise the need for meticulous continuity - which itself is a surprisingly difficult thing to get right. A sequence of clips that make up a scene of even just 60 seconds might be filmed over several days, sometimes weeks.
