Just wondered if anyone has had a 570s and what your thoughts are or were. I have a mint 991 Turbo s which Mclaren have made a great part ex offer on, but the 570s are unknown to me apart from the stuff Ive read (good and bad). So its a case of stick with my 991 Turbo S or venture into the unknown Mclaren world

I have just sold my 570S Spider. I owned it for just under a year- it was an epic car and the performance just blew me away. Despite the supercar looks it really was incredibly comfortable in my 9 months of ownership and didn't let me down once. I was lucky enough to have the MSO defined exhaust so it sounded incredibly good.

If you're coming from a Turbo S you'll find the performance similar.

You'll get a lot more attention in the Mac compared to the ubiquitous Porsche. However it is all good attention, with people generally interested in the Mac. You get lots of thumbs up and people taking video and pics of your car especially on the motorway. It can get a little tiring.

Downsides- nothing really but as we all know the Porsche will be put together better, the panel gaps on the Mac were interesting to look at!

Why did I sell? Mclaren offered me the amount I paid for it back in July 2020 give or take a couple of grand so I took the opportunity whilst the going was good and now I'm in a 991.2 carrera GTS to use as a daily. The 570S spiders are on the increase in terms of price.

Good luck with your search

Brilliant response thanks. I am on the fence to be honest as my Turbo S has high spec and tough to source and they seem to have gone up also. I particularly like the spider 570 too

I seriously looked at a 570s. The build quality of the car (which was a year old and sitting in a McLaren dealer) was barely a step above a kit car. Didn’t look anything like a 150k car.

Not owned a 570S, but the previous owner of my 991.2 Turbo S part-ex'd his 570S for it over 2 years ago - which I thought was an interesting swap. I guess he must have not been overly impressed with some elements of the Macca.

It seems a real mixed bag with McLarens. I have owned my 540C for almost 4 years now and its been superb. No build quality issues to report. We've got a Cayenne as the daily car, and being completely honest I don't see a huge difference between the two. Certainly not enough to justify the build quality reputation, in my case

Its funny as I would say it also doesn't look like a £150k car, the amount of times I've been asked by general public if it was a P1 is unreal. Bargain supercar at current prices IMO. But be prepared for the attention in comparison to the 911.

OP - Have you driven one? That will probably answer your question.

Hi yes I bought a 570s in Ventura orange about a month ago from Harwood Mclaren and am totally in awe. As you say the attention is off the scale, sometimes I forget what I'm driving and think why are they taking pictures. Don't miss the 991 at all
