Been a while since I posted an update.

To recap I came back to biking after a long break and not a lot of previous experience to be honest.

I’ve completed several advanced road courses which is money I’d spend 3 times over to be candid.

In the interim I’ve fitted a factory quickshifter.

I so love it and it really smooths out the faster sections of my ride. That said it isn’t the quality of life change I expected around town. Especially on a big sports bike thou where you aren’t really moving much out of 2nd or 3rd.

Next plan is to get more training and plan a trip.

Also find people to ride with as I don’t have anyone to ride with my rides are a bit unfocused and lonely to be honest.

I’ll post a guide on fitting the QS but it’s so easy even a spanner less guy like me did it!

I find a QS is great when you're pushing on but I resort to the clutch in cities/when dawdling.

Have you thought about joining a club e.g. https://www.hoc.org.uk/ ?

When I moved I joined a local club just to meet some folks to ride with. Didn't stick with the club but the friendships and riding remain.

I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me as a member...

You'd be surprised who'll let you join before they know you whistle

Thank you! I didn't know about the owners club so will join and see if I can join the club for a while and get a group few ride outs!

Put some bmw badges over the Honda ones and give your beard a good oiling and you should be just about ok without the backless chaps.
