Browsing the classifieds,( well it beats working) I stumbled over this

Anyone know it, im sure its the same one i pondered over a couple of years ago when it was a bit more road trim.

Looks like it could be a car to put one over on the Griff boys :evil:

Got to be a lot easier than building one from scratch ( believe me :0 )for anyone thinking of comming out to play.

The cars will be eligible for a number of series,our super gt series has some serious 800/900hp porkers,a 700hp tuscan racer and skyline,c5r powered monaro, etc.

It can be driven without the body and is not a thrown together compromise like some Cerb transplants....

What sort of power are you looking at..

This is my mates, i'm a couple of months behind,with some body,electrics and aero to do.
Its been good doing two cars as there a quite a few differences between them,so when it comes to testing we can make changes for the better.
This one has a standard ls1 dynoed at 350 both hp&torque at the wheels,he has a 500hp race ls1 but that won't go in for a season.Mine is a slightly modded LS6,so with the motec should be looking at 450/470.
This has been built as an enduro so has plenty of coolers,accusump,120 ltr tank,flat tray underside and still comes in under 1000kgs.
The bodys now on so i'll post some pics in the next couple of days,I won't hijack this thread anylonger.

Does not sound like a major engine - seems nice, have had a pic of it from way back - nice brake, slicks combo - seems over the top unless a proper race car though.

You could always go and watch the TVRCC Speed Championship, where there are a number of Chimaeras competing. Including mine, as per my profile piccie.

It was just a testday to see if every was ok,so they didn't explore the limits,can't see too much understeer happening though,diff is 3.25 spooled,could even be lower as the t56 ratios arent the best,effectively a four speed(2.9first,.56sixth off memory) ,any reason for the ls7,I would of thought there will be a little bit of a wait for after market goodies .

I think there's a bit of a wait for engines as well, let alone complete running units. Parts are available if you look in the right places but I was of the understanding engines won't be available until after cars have been sold.

hi i am sorry for the delay we hoped it would have been easier to get one i will be speaking to you boosted very soon. the project is to build a GT car based on a tuscan R chassie with an all new body we talked at the begining of the year but i acquired a challenge engine from tvr i now own car 58 and 23 plus the project car, we are looking as per usual for the best power and reliabillity with thanks

Cheers Fred, I can supply heads and inlets but for now I'd recommend the Darton unit for a strong bottom end.
