G30 pre facelift headlight query

I have a 2019 G30 5 Series with the standard led lights. I have noticed that the inner front headlights do not ever light up - not on dipped or main beams. The only aspect that light up is the DRL rings. Have circled the light in picture attached.

Not sure if there is a fault or if this is correct? Would appreciate any other owners confirming whether theirs are the same or whether I have an issue. Seems a bit off to have lights on the front that do not have a bulbs in them to me.

Same as some models of the F10 before them. All the lighting is provided by that outer light, but in the interests of styling, you get that "mock" inner light.

Thanks a lot for replying. Seems a bit cheap to me. Oh well as long as it isn't broke.

Got an issue with the headlights not turning off when activated by light sensor so will need to get that looked at before warranty ends.

I have a 2017 540i X-drive and also an F10 Alpina B5. As far as I know the inner lights work when making a turn. My E60 I had also did this. For example when you pull out of a junction the inner light will illuminate. Utterly pointless! Otherwise the outer headlight does everything. Other manufacturers use their fog lights I believe.
