Hello,

What is the shipping equivalent of DCS or flight sim?

Something that works with Windows 10 and can be fairly realistic for ocean going ships with ideally lots of places to explore in scenary.

Many thanks in advance.

I think youre out of luck if you want the DCS of ships
I have European Ship Simulator & Ship Simulator Extreme but they are pretty average IMHO
MArineverse do some VR sailing games like Big Breezy Boat that is a bit more fun (& a sail racing one too, cant recasll the name)

Thanks - I was thinking that might be the case as nothing really showing on steam when I had a quick look. Ship Simulator appears to be windows 7 only.

Have you seen Stormworks? It’s on steam and I’m sort of tempted, lots of open sea and waves and stuff

Try asking the Suez pilot...they're probably ahead of you in their search.

I did have visions of the OP trying to recreate that incident when I read the title

That is strangely alluring.

If you like that then this is sort of similar but goes into much more depth https://store.steampowered.com/app/268650/From_the...

It is also the hardest game ever to learn. It has a learning cliff but its very satisfying once you get the hang of it.

There's also fishing Barents sea and the North Atlantic version

If you're not toooo fussed about full on realism or a bit of Pve/PvP then Sea of thieves is always good laugh with a couple of mates

Ship Simulator Extremes on the Steam sale for £3.74.

We are entering take-a-punt teratory!

Anybody know if it would run in a VMware Workstation virtual machine as I have an old Windows XP VMD here?

Stormworks and Teardown not on sale but I'm thinking they are worth a go as well as I have some spare Steam vouchers.
