Buying 750 Monster - Problem ?
Discussion
I fancy a Monster and have seen a 750 for sale for the price of a 600
I've read the reviews and it seems the 750 was unloved as it was just a bigger 600 at a higher price whilst the 900 had the better spec
However now it's old and cheap is there any reason not to buy a 750 (insurance, 600 is sweeter etc) ?
I haven't ridden any Monsters at this point

Whilst the 750 has less grunt than the 900, it is IMO way better than the 600.
It may be ‘unloved’ by some but, alternatively some see it as the best compromise.
Personally, I prefer the 900 as it has significantly more torque (and a 6 spd gearbox) but the 750 is no slouch either.
A good friend of mine swears by his 750, best bike he’s owned in his mind.

Check the condition of the bolts /s screws on the heads, especially the front one. These and the carb float bowls can seize and that is bad.
Some of the old 750' suffer from the lower cylinder piston slap, not too much to worry about.
I had a 600 and really loved it. My mate has it now and I am really tempted to buy it back from him..
