Sony have discontinued their email Android App so I thought I would use Outlook, as that is what I have on my desktop.

It's garbage. You can't collapse the folders, so I have hundreds open and spend ages scrolling down trying to find mail. Neither can you print from it.

Anyone suggest a free Android emailail App with basic functionality?

I use the Gmail app, which is connected to 2 Gmail accounts, and one icloud account. (The icloud updates hourly, but can be set to every 5 mins I think.)

It seems to work fine for me.

Gmail app here as well, connected to multiple accounts from a range of providers (Google, Yahoo!, my own ISP, Microsoft and others).

Works well, and doesn't provide the security issues with my ISP that the native Samsung email app did.

Another vote for Gmail. I also paid for Nine to run multiple email accounts and thought it well worth the money.

I've used K-9 mail for Android for years.

Does what it says on the tin.

Can't collapse folders with K-9 either. Creates separate folder rather than parent/child

Surely a folder structure is a basic fundamental of any database - how hard can it be to programme an App with collapseable folders.....

That might be a limitation of your IMAP server. I know that some servers don't permit sub folders.

As far as I can tell, we are all being encouraged away from filing stuff away and to rely on search

It works for me but it drives my colleague mad as he has years of structured folders

I just leave everything in my inbox now and projects are done in teams.

Try Nine. I started using it as a replacement for Outlook when Outlook was misbehaving.

Nine. Can have folder views or can sync folders so mails appear in your main inbox.

I use the Gmail app too on my Note 10 and used in my S8 too. I've got a few accounts set up, and it works fine, swipe up or down on your profile icon in the top right to switch accounts, job done.

24hrs with Nine and I'll be sticking with it. Does everything I'm looking for. Thanks.
