2015 Active Tourer 225i Xdrive. F45
I assume that the TPS must have some sort of battery in the unit for it to send a signal to the ecu/idrive whatever ?
If there is a battery then are they replaceable ?
I will be getting new tyres in the not too distant future and if the battery is replaceable then it would seem to be a good time to do them all. Car has 16k on the clock.
If they are not replaceable then what sort of life span does the TPS unit have before it needs replacing ?
Cheers
Brian.

Web searches suggest 5 to 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Batteries are not recommended to be replaced, just the whole TPMS but some say they could be. 16k over 6 years is pretty low mileage!

Thanks, I rather thought that might be the case.
Yes, DVLA MOT history shows low miles, previous owner was ill and car spent time sat in garage.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and just replace tyres then and leave present TPS units in place.
Cheers
Brian.
