I'm getting at least 5 of them every day.
Each time I block the number - they call with another number...

I have an Iphone - Is there some app that can screen the calls?

SMS messages are almost useless now as I ignore them. Recently I've had scam messages from HSBC, DHL, Royal Mail, National Insurance, DPD, HMRC & a few others.

633 - where do you live ? I haven't received any for months and today i've have 6 calls

Petty much impossible to block now, they are either using out of area numbers , or just spoofing a number ( just randomly entering a number into their SIP so it looks like its coming from a real number. If you call it back you will find an innocent party whose number is just being used )

I now don't answer calls from any number i don't recognise.

Who mentioned SMS?

Cool story though.

I've had one call about this today, and three missed calls while I was out, from random numbers, that are probably the same thing. I've had them before, but nothing for weeks.

Where do you find blocked numbers on an iPhone? I blocked a few of these but have realised that it's pointless because the numbers seem to be completely random.

It’s amazing how many mobile phone numbers the National Crime Agency use to tell me that my National Insurance Number has been cancelled and I’ve got to stay on the line to pay a fine in order for my European Attest Warrant to be voided.

I find it even more remarkable that after over a year of not paying this ‘fine’, no arrest has been made confused

I've had three of these calls this morning, all from different numbers.

Can anyone confirm - if I press "1" to speak to their "technical consultant", is there a way that I'm going to get a load of money stuck on my phone bill? I vaguely recall talk of one of these "press x to do y" scams running up a huge bill. When I'm shouting down the phone line it would be nice to be shouting at an actual person, but not if it's going to cost me for the privilege.

Quite coincidentally I had a call from a lady this morning asking what I wanted, as she had a missed call from me .

I hadn’t made a call to anyone, so she seemed a little puzzled as she explained she had just hit the call back button.

I did explain that it sounded like a spoofed number caller and just to ignore. I’m not sure she believed me!
