What mundane things might an alien find weird about Earth?

Driving home after a hard day's work yesterday in my own little world I passed a bloke walking his little Chihuahua dog along the sea front. Quite a proud looking little thing (the dog), they looked content and relaxed in each other's company so all was well. Nothing unusual at all really, especially as a dog owner / walker myself.

However it occurred to me that a little green man (other colours and genders are probably available, but maybe not) from the plant Zogg were to visit Earth, he might find the idea of one species walking around quite happily tethered to another to be a bit weird. Unless they do it where he comes from as well.

Anyway it bothered me enough to start a thread on it, so what ordinary day to day things do you reckon an alien would find weird?

I would find it hard to explain to an alien why people buy a second sports car (or diamond ring, or £2500 comic...whatever floats your boat) when there are literally starving kids.
