Lease is up next March and currently have a GR Yaris on order, however the more I think about it, the more I come to realise that I don't need a 'daily', with me doing very few miles, and my GF having a shiny new F Pace for every day duties,. My options are far far wider without such constraints. The nearest I've ever got to anything a bit different was a 6.0 monaro, and currently a new BMW 8 series. I have a semi-exotica itch to scratch, although as a consequence of lockdown and future WFH, also a dog..

Been looking at 360, 540c, R8 etc and wonder if there is anything amongst this kind of 2 seat thing that could realistically transport a medium/large dog in the space behind the seats? Obviously a 911 is a fairly obvious choice, but is there anything a bit more special that would fit the bill?! Ferrari california? Maser?

Budget probably between 40-80ish but would rather the cheaper end of the range. It will be financed in the main so depreciation/cost of ownership would be the biggest factor.

Ideas?

I came here to post a Evora too. They’re lovely to look at but a bit boring to drive/own

Heard a lot of good things about evoras and do generally like them but may be too much 'car' and not enough 'super'. That said, passed an i8 today and despite the badge, they do look pretty exotic and reckon the theatre of the doors could go a long way!

Evora.

You hardly ever see them on the road. There are options across the whole spectrum of your budget. They hold their value incredibly well.

They look fantastic and are a great drive.

I have an FF for my dog, full sized rear seats and ability to put the seatbacks down enables you to get pretty much anything in the back as long as not too high (i.e. a larger dog will not be able to stand in there properly, but not something he should do while underway anyway). Also has the advantage that you can tie the dog to the rear, so he can move side to side but not forward

911 works well as you point out - if running costs and depreciation are a consideration, I would go for a nice manual 997.2 S
A Maserati GranSport could be an option - I have never owned one, but they seem exceptional value for money and to my eyes look a lot better than anything Maserati has produced since then
As mentioned, a 612 would be a good option too, I think they look better with each passing year - esp. in darker colors
I think there are various Aston Martins in your budget - possibly a DBS or a newer model Vanquish - both of those have rear seats (or at least came with the option of rear seats [DBS], so most have them)

Much as I love all three, I wouldn't want to share my A110 with our Old English Sheepdog or our Newfypoo.

You'd get a dog in the back of a Cerbera, and I've even read of there being a solution for a dog in the back of a Tuscan. Clearly neither are supercars but they might meet your criteria for something a bit exotic.

An FF would be perfect but way over my top end budget, really do like them though, you have a lucky dog!

612 would never have crossed my mind, perceptions of massive bills but to be fair, probably not a great deal worse than others in this kind of range.

Lc500 is a decent leftfield selection - they certainly look good to my eyes, and having watched a bit on you tube, the v8 really sounds quite nice and very old school, totally contrasting their appearance!

Lot of love for the evora on this thread, I don't think it's me, likewise I'm not a huge fan of the db9/dbs interior and the newer astons are out of my budget I would think, as lovely as they are!

I'll throw in the Aston Martin Vanquish

Certainly ticks the "super" element of the car brief in my opinion. Just a sublime thing to see, hear and sit in. Though never driven one so cannot comment on the dynamics compared to the Evora. And. Its at the top end of the budget.

Likewise the DB11 - art in motion would be the byline i would use.

You mentioned Porsche and would have to agree its hard to look past for a dynamic, great driving 2+2. The 997 PDK Turbo S would be my pick of the bunch -

or 991 3.T 4s -

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202105152...

Lastly and i'm not really sure you class them as exotic but they certainly have the presence and the speed associated with a supercar and i haven't seen them mentioned yet is the r35 GTR.

I would go for a prestige edition with the limited burnt orange (unsure of the name) paint and it looks like a stunning thing and certainly a great 2+2

As many have already mentioned it would have to be an Evora for me, absolutely fantastic piece of kit and beautiful too.

Test drove one yd. Was fun and even the sound(in sport) not that bad.
Where is the place for the dog?
There isnt space for one decent bag in the truck.
Great looking car! Poor colors though...
Supercar? Depends on your definition.
But space for a medium dog, nope

Lc500 is currently my auto trader obsession. Also arguably not a supercar by any measure (but nor would I say a evora qualifies) but the more I look the more the posh toyota appeals... Also have been reminded of the existence of the AM Rapide., seem a complete bargain at the mo. Basically I think I have come to realise I want a GT rather than outright supercar/sportscar..

The LC is a great car & I would recommend test driving one as they're a bit special.

Another GT well worth a look is the S500 AMG Line Premium Coupe:
