Door noises....again. Please help!!

I actually have a Chim, but am hoping the setup might be the same???
Update on the problem i have been having, maybe someone can help???
In the door pillar are 2 solenoids...one that activates the release mechanism and one that controls the lock. The lock one is making a terrible noise when the plunger moves up (unlock). Almost as if the solenoid is trying to move the plunger arm further into the body of the solenoid than it is meant to go. It is a rasping noise. When the car is locked i can press the buttons under the wing mirrors and there is no bad sound, just the release mechanism firing on the other solenoid (obviously the door stays closed as it is locked), but if i unlock it the solenoid makes the noise, and if i use the buttons to open the doors it makes the noise too.
Not knowing too much about the electrics here is it right that the solenoid should try to unlock the door when the door is already unlocked??? The whole situation is just on the passenger side.
Worst case is it causing any harm?? the door still locks and unlocks, and it opens fine....just this annoying noise!!
