Oh, that's sad.

I've not long finished his autobiography - it was cheap in a charity shop so I couldn't resist picking it up.

I had never actually connected his surname to *that* Mosley until I opened the book up! Almost put me off reading the rest but it was good read.

He did a much better job than his biased predecessor but will probably be remembered more for his private life than the excellent safety work with NCAP, etc.

I always thought the $100m fine for McLaren was ludicrous though.

He wasn't the boss of F1; more poor journalism. He was the President of the FiA, who are the governing body of 4 wheeled motorsport - and responsible for other issues, including road safety.

This guy used his own money to pay the legal expenses for people, who had been hacked, to sue the press.

Like all politicians, came across better out of office than within it and reading through his autobiography, it's difficult to argue with many of the reasons behind most of the decisions he made.

Were it not for his family name, I wouldn't have minded betting he would have been Prime Minister.

It was multi-dimensional as the Michelin teams had also been told that were at legal risk if they had raced (Indiana law) - even if the course had been modified.
