So I never thought I'd say this, but having upgraded all my headphones to lightning connector ones, I find myself wanting to use them on my laptop with a 3.5mm jack.

I can't seem to find an adapter this way round? Don't they exist?

Not sure it's possible and you would certainly need a DAC as the headphones need a digital signal.

I did it the opposite way, I just bought the lightning and USB-C to 3.5mm adapters for the iPhone (lightning) and iPad (USB-C), then used the headphones I already had...much cheaper that way.

Pity this also means I have to remember to carry around the lightning to USB-C charging cable too as Apple doesn't provide you with a charger anymore...as everyone will already have one! Maybe, but it will be lower wattage and probably USB-A - which Apple don't provide a cable/adapter for!

Of all the standards out there to fk with, jack and mini jack just didn't ever need to be messed with.
My headphones work with my phone, my laptop, my Nan's mp3 player, my Dad's massive stereo, everything. Silly to drop that functionality.
