Little Venice - Food recommendation?
Discussion
The family is heading down to London next week and we're doing boat into Camden etc.
Seeing as it's supposed to be 23degs, does anybody have a recommendation for some early evening (6pm ish) sit down food around Little Venice please?
It's a family affair (teens) having been on our feet all day so a nice, pleasant, preferably outdoor with good, decent food without being exclusive or having to get dressed up.
Atmosphere/view/city vibe is the top priority over fine dining. After a year of village lockdown life, their worlds have shrunk and I'm keen to broaden their horizons a little. So it's about them rather than us parents.

You're not too far from the Edgware Road (the W2 section south of the A40/A501 down to Marble Arch) , and a plethora of Lebanese eateries with plenty of outdoor dining options.
They might even get offered a go on one of those hubbly bubbly pipe things!

There's surprisingly little in 'Little Venice' itself (the area directly around the bit where the canals meet)
The Warrington is an option -it's a pub downstairs and was (?) a Gordon Ramsay restaurant upstairs. It's a really beautiful old pub and either upstairs or downstairs were good depending on budget or what you fancy. (Just checking though and the upstairs restaurant may no longer be a thing).
There are a few different options for Asian, burgers, pizza etc on Clifton Road - but probably a bit generic to fit the bill for what you want.
Another suggestion would be The Clifton which is a little north in Maida Vale. Nice pub which was refurbed a couple of years ago and has a nice covered 'beer garden' out the back. Walk there via Abbey Road and get yourself 'that' photo for the London tourist experience
There's also The Waterway which is overlooking the canal. I can't remember how much seating they have outdoors, but it's a nice location if it's a nice day. (although you may have had enough of canals by lunch)

Warrington is closed at the mo for refurbishment (well it was last week when i drove past!) The Warrington is an option -it's a pub downstairs and was (?) a Gordon Ramsay restaurant upstairs. There is really very little around there at all, there is Raouls on Clifton Road which is quite nice and can sit outside, there is also the Summerhouse up near the Waterway but as bigandclever says you might be better off at one of the places at Paddington Basin or could also walk down to Queensway/Bayswater or a bit further to Notting hill?
ETA St. Johns Wood High Street is also walkable and quite a few restaurants round there

The Waterway is what you're after - they added a heap of outside seating recently with cover and heaters etc. It's closer to bistro than pub food and really good quality. Make sure you book as its popular. The Hero of Maida is nearby and does great food too.
Interesting. We're really just in that part of town so it doesn't have to be Little Venice per se. Just a little annoying that you've got to book everywhere which knocks the spontaneity somewhat.
I was thinking Cafe Laville on Edgeware Rd which straddles the canal as it will be sunny and it looks like it has nice views - any thoughts?
But happy to look at Paddington Basin for the buzz. Any recommendations there (preferably without posh burgers as there's a limit to how many you can eat in a week...!)
We're staying in Shoreditch (for the full tourist house!), so if anybody has any suggestions around there if they happen to know any that would be appreciated
