Time to say goodbye to the Griff

Unfortunately,after a lot of deliberation,it looks like it's going to be time to leave Griff ownership after six glorious years
I really am gutted,to be even thinking of such a thing,but an expanding family now means that we'll need to release some money for a house extension - plus she isn't getting used as much as she should be,now there's three of us!
I know selling will be a decision I'll regret in future years,but,the family has to come first
In the cold light of day,I know it makes sense,but it doesn't stop it hurting :weeping:
It's not been quite the same having to go to shows, etc in two cars with a baby,so we'll have to find something bigger so that we can enjoy drives out again

Unfortunately,I have to try and be practical - we've already got a nine month old and we've just found out that 'numbers twos' on the way!!
We're planning to use some of the money for the house and the remainder for a more practical second car
I just wish I didn't keep hearing all these cerbera reliability horror stories - as that seemed like the ideal solution to enable us to still have a TVR with a family (then again,you don't want to be too sensible...!)

I wondered whether it was you that had bought that one Paul,you've been interested in it for quite a while!!
At the moment,I'm back to the old story - my heart's telling me to take a chance on an early cerb,despite all the horror stories,yet the sensible option is to get a 4 seater convertible merc or bmw for now,and come back to a TVR in the future
I desperately want to stick with a TVR, but I'm just worried about trying to run a cerb on a limited budget - they seem a bit more fragile than the Griffs and a lot more expensive to fix

I had first refusal. Didn't commit as I hadn't seen the car yet. Then find out on PH that it has been sold. Never had the opportunity to see it. Fooked if i'm going to commit to that sort of cash blind - I'm not a millionnaire.
Well pissed off - only waited 13 years to be flummoxed by incompetence. I don't understand why the factory didn't communicate with the people that had made a previous offer on the car (8 months ago).

I'm in exactly the same boat. We have a one year old daughter and another one on the way. Would love a cerb but couldnt justify the running costs - especially afer watching my brother-in-law's face as he saw the £6k bill for his cerb's new engine. Its now time to sell (after just shelling out for a respray , tyres, clutch, and rear screen too). Its going in the classifieds later this month

If they were almost any other marque, you'd shrug your shoulders, smile ruely, and carry on. Grab you a bit, don't they?
Mavk I was in the same dilemma 4 years ago. If you want a real fun V8 family car you MUST MUST try an HSV.There is now good back up, a thriving owners club, it involves you like a TVR does (in a saloon car type of way!)rare,low running costs comfortable, fast, in fact bloody brilliant. I kept mine 4 years have only just sold it because with 2 other big cars in the family I was able to go back to a 2 seater.Pop over to the HSV forum and fire some questions off!
