987 radio/cd problems

My cd stopped working yesterday - display was fine, track was progressing second by second on the display, but no sound. The radio was fine, but switching back to the cd, and still no sound. Swapped cds, no change. Stopped the car, stopped the engine, switched radio off, switched radio on, still no sound. This morning jumped in and all was well.

Also, occassionally, I just get STOP appearing on the display when I insert a cd. After a few ons and offs it corrects itself.

Finally, without the radio on, sometimes the dash display is blank, sometime four dashes '----'.

I don't think Porsche invested as much time in the radio/cd as the engine/design/handling.

Anyone else suffering the same?

A minor criticism of the 987 must go to the sound system. Ours has SPP but it is rather disappointing all the same. I find listening to the exhaust heals the pain.
