Having been sports car less for 3 years whilst doing the family thing, the other day I snapped and decided to help fuel the UK economic recovery by financing something fun ...

... like a 3 year old Elise S2 111s a nice bloke on PH was selling for reasonable money, and after an swlotus inspection, did the deal yesterday.

OH*MY*GOD whilst I love my wife and child, this car is now on my "next of kin" list. So the gearbox is not nice, the performance is good, but the handling :driving: ooohhhh the handling ! My Chimaera was a roll-top, claw-foot, late Edwardian cast-iron bathtub on shopping trolley casters in comparison. I predict a LOT of fun, and less TVR sized bills.

Anyway, now I’ve got that sorted, does anyone know if the a Larini sports exhaust box on the VVC is OK for Donnington at 99 db or Bedford at 101 db ?

Cheers, HB

Hmmmm, I'd be interested to know that too. Guess it will depend on any other modifications too e.g. Cat, induction etc...

Would be very useful to get db levels for various combinations.

I was advised by Larini that with exhaust only it would be circa 94 db.

i have the larini on my S2 111S. Firstly, let me say - GET IT!!

Secondly, I don't know the exact answer, but from my perception of the noise, it's not too dissimilar from standard - it will certainly be ok for a 100-odd dBa limit track day. I stress I have only the back box (no cat) though and standard air filter (that will change) at the moment.
