All the other EV charging companies already charged 20% VAT, it was only Instavolt with their creative interpretation of the law who didn't.

However they do make a reasonable point that it is absurd that if you can charge your car at home that you pay 5% but if you can't then you pay 20% But the inevitable road pricing on the horizon will deal with that.

Fake news. It’s always been 20%, only domestic electricity is 5%. This is just a clarification for the one company trying to get away with paying less. Even 20% is still way better that the near 250% tax we pay on petrol (as 70%+ of the petrol price is tax).

In the future, only the ‘poor’ people will have ICE vehicles, and then the tax on those fuels will be lowered (well I can but dream)
