Have 1TB seagate back up plus prtable drive

It refuses to load and only gives a bleep

Any methods of getting it back working, or just recovering the data?

Is it spinning up? You should be able to feel the gyroscopic effect if you gently rock the drive in your hand (while powered up).

If it isn't spinning, then you could try giving it a quick rotation in your hand to get it moving, or a gentle tap (also while powered up).

If it's an SSD, that doesn't apply smile

The percussive maintenance method may work but it depends if it is a head problem or not. I recently had a 4TB drive die on me with no notice and I can't seem to get any response no matter what I do. Good luck.

Issues with USB powered drives is often just because they're not getting sufficient power. Are you using the original cable? Probably one that looks like a micro USB and a little extra. You can often get away with just the micro USB but sometime you will need the additional power connector. Try the drive on another device and or alternative cable (they can get damaged easily)
