Zipped files - confused about "delayed" receipt of data

Hi

Please can anyone help me on this , as I am really confused!

I am in dispute with a company and last year I asked for data to be sent to me by the company. I received a zipped file as an attachment to an email from them. On opening this file there was little data in the file. I complained about this to them. However on opening the file again several months later after making a formal complaint,the zipped file now holds alot more data . How can this be possible? could I have downloaded the file incorrectly originally ?

Is it possible for a company to only allow data in their sent zipped file to be disclosed later or for it to be visible and to downloaded later?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t think it can be changed after you’ve received it.

presuming you unattached or saved the .zip file from your email at the earlier date, what is the modified date of that file?

Do you have it anywhere as a backup from the earlier date?

Did you actually receive the file, or a link to it.

If you received it, it can't be altered.

If a link, they can swap the file.

the file was received attached to an email as a zipped file , but on opening it several months ago it did not open with all the contents it currently holds. I actually complained about the issue at the time . I opened the file from my email account but did not save it as such, I just downloaded it .

The file has a a modified date that you can see prior to opening it but when i look at the list of the times I have downloaded it and hover over the file it states a different modified date , is this the date of the download?

seems strange
