Chimaera driver's door

Hi,

I'm new to the forum having bought a Chimaera late last year; so hopefully I'm not posting a daft query:

Has anyone else had a problem with the driver's door mechanism on a Chimaera?

In the middle of a cracking drive in the sunshine yesterday, I pulled over to get a drink; only to discover that the driver's door would not close. On closer inspection of the door mechanism, it looks like the latch inside the body panel may have rotated the wrong way (- which may also explain a loud pop noise I heard when driving).

Managed to make it back home by holding on to the outside of the door when cornering, quite a memorable experience.

I wonder if anyone else has come across this, or has any bright ideas?

I had a simliar thing on a different car, where I had closed the door and the seatbelt was hanging in the way. Hitting the seatbelt buckle managed to trigger the door latch mechanism without the door actually being closed!

Easy enough to put right tho, with a flatblade screwdriver whilst holding the door handle open!

Don't know if something similiar might have happend to your tiv!
