Hi Folks

I managed to spill some water onto the keyboard of my laptop. It now wont turn on. I've taken the back off and removed the battery to help dry it out. If it still doesnt work then I'll need to send it for repair. Before I do so, I want to remove the ssd hard drive and do a backup. The drive is much too small to fit my usual usb connector. The drive is about 2 by 8 cm (see pick below). Can anyone please tell me what type of connector I require and where to get one.
Thanks in advance.

That's an M.2 drive, you either need a desktop PC with an M.2 drive port on it or an M.2 external caddy like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/FIDECO-External-Enclosure... install it in one of those then plug into a PC to backup, if the PC doesn't have an on board M.2 port.

You need to find out the Key (B, M, B+M and others) of your drive to make sure it's compatible with the caddy, other caddys do exist. There will be one.

To me it looks like an M. But check.

Googling the Dell part no. finds this page:

https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item...

which says:

Form Factor: M.2 2280
-M Key connector
