I am looking to change my car shortly and am trying to narrow down the contenders.
I will commute a couple of miles to and from the station a few times per week, but it will mainly be used for local driving and weekend fun, car shows and the odd country blast.
As mileage is no longer an issue, I am looking to scratch the V8 itch.
I may need four seats occasionally, so no out and out sports cars.
I am steering towards a GT and would prefer a convertible however a coupe would also work, my budget is 25k ish.
Contenders so far are in no particular order are:
Jaguar XKR, Mustang GT 5.0, BMW M6, BMW 650i.
So, what are the pro’s and con’s of those I have chosen and are there any others I have overlooked which would fit the bill, nothing too exotic due to maintenance costs.

If you want a GT then go for a CL500 all the windows drop away so when you open the sunroof it's like having a convertible.

From your list I'd look at the one with the interior and comfort which makes you smile.
We're on a similar hunt, S Class Coupe is tops for the rear seats. It's all been about the interiors and feel for us.
A long trip in a 6 series would look like a 3 series. The interior is rather generic.
Maybe the Jag for interior and comfort.
I'd say the Jag engine would sound lovely ticking over on a run.

Tbh honest, I've always wanted a yank tank and now the Mustang is available in RHD it beckons even more, however I would want the face-lift which is out of budget. The Jag is calling as I really like the looks, together with the 510 bhp supercharged V8 it is bound to be smile inducing.
