V12 roadster vantage

There is a rather nice Elwood (?) blue roadster coming up at BCA if anyone is looking. Not manual or lightweight seats though - in livingstone.

Grade 3 with some possible paintwork having been done, and 28k miles 3 previous owners.

I didn’t realise quite how long ago I bought mine so nice to see old pictures on that thread, though I’m please to say I painted my house since!

Not sure how Adam’s are but the lacquer has gone a bit milky on mine. Light refurb required now.

Seems it went for 93.5. Wonder whether that was a dealer or a punter buying.

Well, Kermit is 4.5yrs old now, and I fitted the Zags from new, so they are too.

After about 2 years the lacquer on the Zags started to grow those white lines from the edges and over the diamond cut faces, and also a couple of milky patches where water sat when parked, so I had all 4 refurbed.


Then pretty much 2years later again it happened again, exactly the same. I was assured TADS, so as I wanted to keep the car OEM, and the Zag's only came in two colours, gloss black and diamond turned faces, OR all gloss black, so thought I would try all gloss black to see if it lasted any longer.

Took me a while to get used to the look - but it probably suits the GT4 track look of the car with Aerokit on. That said I do think the diamond turned faces were show off the shape better and are beautiful. Anyway lets see how they last this time.

There is a post today on FB in the V8/V12 Vantage group from the seller which explains the route it took to the auction.

Adam, I remember when you had the aerokit fitted and I thought at the time it could be a bad move, possibly spoiling the original lines etc. But I have to say, it has really grown on me and your car looks absolutely fantastic. Bravo!

Ah is there an interesting back story on the route to auction or just a Px type deal?

I didn’t watch the auction in the end as I was distracted - was that hammer price - so plus fees?

Nothing too interesting or unusual really. Not sure how many on here are in the Faceache group but for those who are not……AM MD (I don’t know which one and even if I did, I wouldn’t name them here) lowballed it. A better deal was subsequently done with WBAC, and then it appeared at the auction, and sold as described above. Sounds like a good outcome for all involved.

Got it- thx - I had my db9 valued on the wbac website a month ago - and each week now they have been emailing me with a new higher price .... there just isn’t enough stock around.

I think this car is now for sale at AM Cheltenham for £124,950. That is some price increase even in these strange times!
