I hate starting threads like these, but:

Looking at getting a set of over ears to replace my work supplied Jabra in-ear headset as I find them uncomfortable during long calls/webinars/etc.

I'll probably use them for podcasts/music too so they need to sound half decent at least.

The Sony CH510 caught my eye at £40, then found them on Amazon for £33, bargain!

There's a couple of reviews on Richer Sounds saying they're crap for calls.

No big loss if they're crap for £33, but I'd rather buy right, buy once etc.

Whachagot? The cheaper the better, but don't mind spending extra if it's worth it.

No real preference regarding wired/wireless. I guess you get more for your money with wired but that's not a dealbreaker.

Thanks in advance!

It's hard to get a cheap headset that's good for both.

We use the Jabra Evolve 40 headsets and they are excellent for calls. Music, not so much (but a lot better than stty cheap ear buds). They are on ear rather than over ear though.

Might be better to buy 2 sets of £20/£30 headphones - one for calls, the other for music?

That might not be a bad shout, especially as they will be connected to different devices anyway.

Bear in mind that if you have a work supplied laptop, any non work supplied headset probably wont work with the laptop as they won't be pre-installing all the drivers under the sun for you, or giving you admin rights to instill them yourself

I found some Sennheiser buds brand new in the box for 7 quid at a boot sale, they are £30 on Amazon and sound great.

The Jabra 40 are on the options list, although they’re wired so would/should work anyway?
