F1 drivers contracts. How do they work?
Discussion
Prompted by some of the posts on the Valterri Bottas thread I’m curious to know if any of you chaps on here know how F1 drivers contracts actually work?
For some on the grid they’ll have a retainer, whilst others will pay to drive one way or another.
But what about bonuses? Championship points, grid positions, testing / simulator hours, sponsorship / PR commitments, non-crash bonuses?
What about the drivers own entourage? Masseuses, PA’s, fitness instructors, gofers, the drivers flights, transfers and hotel rooms?
What clauses are there likely to be regarding insider information once a driver moves teams?
Apologies if my questions are naive and foolish, I was just curious how these contracts are likely to work.
Thanks in advance

Haha don't worry, I was just having a sense of deja-vu when I read your post. That link was really good and there's a link to a contract for Senna that gives the full, signed contract so is pretty much chapter and verse and then a few of the posters had good insight into more modern contracts. Thanks for the link chml. I’ll have a read through that later
