I hate watching my cars being driven away by an interloper, and this car more than any other I've owned.
Despite selling her I really don't think anything else will have the character and charm of the M12.
For now I'll return my sword, and plot my next move. Hope you don't mind if I hang around as I'm not entirely sure an M400 isn't on the list of potentials.
Going to have to go to the pub now and drown my sorrows. Apologies to Phil for going on about the car all last night. I'm going to be even worse tonight!
To those worrying about selling their M12s, my experience was thus. Advert up on Friday pm, phone call Saturday, Viewing Sunday. Offer Sunday. Gone this Friday. Happy with what I got for her too. I'm really sad she went so quickly as I'd been expecting it to be a long process punctuated with idiot time wasters. I really thought I'd still be enjoying the car for the next couple of months. In fact it was the easiest sale I've ever had - assuming the draft doesn't get pulled or something! Perhaps I got lucky, but I suspect the truth is that at the right price a well maintained car won't be hard to sell.
Anyway its been a pleasure getting to know all of you, and I'll still be around in something fast!
Also thanks to the Vegantune boys who looked after her so well. They helped me out on weekends twice when they were closed, and its that kind of service that really shows how great they are.

Gone but never forgotten!

Indeed I am a happy chappie! Couldn't stop giggling at the wastegates chattering away on the way up the M11
. Stunning car and haven't even gone anywhere near the limit yet, have to book a track day soon!
Sorry to take it off your hands Dan, know how you feel!!
P.S. Does anyone want a '99 4.5 Chimaera?

Have fun. I'm sure she's gone to a good home!

I may have been quite drunk when I wrote that ![]()
I've just had a new clutch and flywheel fitted under warrenty
I trust you'll be trying to get another clutch out of them soon!![]()
Martin.
Hopefully not if BMW can actually work out the problem with the SMG box in every single CSL. Those that claim they don't have it, seem to come back a few thousand miles later eating their words! On the plus side, BMW are replacing the clutches whilst trying to get to the bottom of it.
It also means I know how many launch controls have been done with the clutch
Dan - the dealer is saying that it may be an earlier recall not being done properly, there are cars out there that don't have the problem, and the normal M3 uses the same clutch & gearbox but with different software and doesn't have any slipping problems...
