I've had a look through a welding mask and can see a chunk out of the sun, which was nice. I'll more looks until the chunk is at its biggest, approx 11:12 here in East Berkshire.

It's not the most spectacular eclipse this time around, especially from here in the South of England - but it's always nice to be able to say you saw it. I've just been out to have a look and it was visible through gaps in the clouds.

Hopefully my grandkids will be able to see it in their retirement.

Will it be though? 2090 is 70 years away, I'm 50 so 120 when it comes round so not beyond the realms of possibility especially with life expectancies increasing year on year. I wonder what the average life expectancy was 70 years ago.Antony Moxey said:
