Hi All

Some of you may recall I replaced my Quattroporte S with a 997 C4S and then had a Mini Cooper CLubman as my daily hack to cart the kids around to school etc.

Over the last 6 months I've played around with it - suspension, wheels, interior etc to get it looking as I wanted.

Its not a bad little car and I used to get lots of appreciation from the other MIni fans but as a daily it was just too slow!

So the hunt was on for cheap (ish) daily - fast, preferably estate, stylish.

I considered a E92 estate M Sport with the 6 cylinder diesel but couldnt get excited. Looked at Alpina tourings but they are too expensive!
Strangely I got excited about Megane R26s for a while but they looked a bit fragile!

FInally I came back to Audi.
I used to have an amazing v10 RS6 which I loved and so started to look at B6 S4 Avants

Cracking value for money....and that engine!

So here is my latest purchase!

This car has had THOUSANDS spent on it at AMD. Timing chain done, gearbox and clutch done, Bilstein suspension all round, Miltek stainless exhaust (sounds AMAZING), remap to 370Hp with printout, machine polish

I think it's going to be a keeper!!

No plans to mod it -just clean, polish, cherish - may redo the wheels in the antharcite

Its a quick car - i reckon it could keep up with the 997!

Cant wait to start putting some miles on it. Kids will be happy!

Just sold mine after 10 years of trouble free ownership. Fantastic cars. Enjoy. Octavia vRS 245 arrives next week. Hope it is as good.

How could a VRS be as good as an RS4? A third less power right off the bat.

Look again. They are S4s not RS4s.

My bad! Hopefully you do a VRS write up as I quite like those but hard to find info from people that have had fast cars before in comparison

That looks really nice OP.

I really like this era Audi from a design point of view. I had a quick flirtation with the idea of an S4 when I decided to get shot of my M140i, but I ended up sticking with what I know.
