I’ve got a few cars.
So I’ve only got myself to blame when it comes to getting them serviced etc.

One of the banes of my life is getting the bloody things to and from specialists and getting myself back home again. Courtesy cars are great if they are offered, but aren’t always available or even appropriate for long jobs.

So, has anyone used a concierge type service that takes care of this for you? There are a few firms that appear to offer this.

Lsst time I needed to get a car somewhere without me I used a recovery service. £30, job done.

Are you over thinking this?

Right. I don’t fancy an 80 mile taxi ride.

There are concierge services that will do practically anything you want. It all depends how much you pay.

It's probably easier to get a p.a. and have them organise it all so stuff is just in the right place when you want it to be as that will cover more than cars.

Why not, you deserve it!

A while ago I helped set up a concierge/pa service and you'd be amazed at the st people can't be arsed doing for themselves so sorting out some classic cars won't be an issue if you can't be arsed doing it yourself.

Or if that's not possible there are buses - which are quite economical for us older folk!

Can't you ask the specialist if they would collect and drop the car for an appropriate charge?

It’s worth asking I suppose. Not an advertised service usually but might be something they could sort out.

Not sure if you use STR8SIX, but I am pretty sure one of Jason’s lads runs around with a recovery truck doing what you’ve described. Presumably for breakdowns in the first instance, but no reason why they can’t collect ‘able’ cars too.

Yes Str8Six would be one of them so I’ll see if that’s something they’d do.

I have a mobile mechanic he comes to me , cuts down on the stress. He also takes it for MOT.

Last time I used a mobile mechanic he was the head tester at the local MOT place I used biggrin

Another thought on getting your cars to and from specialist, find a friendly enthusiast who'll do it for you. The difficulty I guess it finding one you trust.
