Starship mileage SSD?
Discussion
I won an auction last week for an ageing computer - Dell Optiplex 780 USFF, W10 - which will be a guinea pig for some experiments (I paid £20 for it).
I received it today and have been updating its windows (W10) and generally checking it over before starting my experiments.
As one of my checks I installed and ran Crystaldisk and was shocked at what it reported (health is good but see numbers below):
120GB SSD (LITEONIT LCS-128M6S)
Powered on 1590 times.
Run for 2008 hours.
Total writes: 229747 GB.
Total reads: 272047 GB.
Yes, you read that right; a quarter of a million GB and counting on a 120GB SSD.
What might it have been doing to clock up that many GB in a such a short number of hours?

Seems a lot. Wonder what the lifetime endurance is?
That said most browsers will burn SSD writes without even trying, mine had done 45TB of writes in no time at all just with all the caching/buffering/whatever stuff happening constantly in the background.
I'd be more wondering why it's done so many short power cycles.
