Wonder if a company will pop up that car rip your existing engine and fuel tank out of your existing and replace it with a motor and electric pack for say 4k?

Isn’t there already company’s doing it?
Didn’t goblin garage do one? Not sure how much it was though.

They do 'classics' but wouldnt there be a market for doing a kit that fits a Focus/Astra/Clio etc?

Not for 4k if you want any sort of range! My guess is to convert an existing ICE to EV with a ~100 mile range is going to cost a good £10k if using new parts.

I'd; suggest £10K using s/h parts is about the lowest. Anything using new motors and batteries is going to be £30k+


Given that the most knackered leaf still costs around £3k, that's say £2k for parts to make it fit (radiators, pumps, wiring, battery boxes etc) and £5k for labour.


Plenty of companies now doing this btw
