Say you live out in the boonies; difficult to find address. What % is acceptable?

I’ve never tipped the delivery driver and I used to be one for Tesco!

Some used to tip £1. Others £2 and one women £5. Used to cover my lunches and a take away most weeks.

Did have someone give me £20 once, fking huge order around Xmas time with lots of wine.

Get good service tip them 5/10 quid , make their day and don't be miserly . For example , last Sunday at 0500 I parked outside a MDs to grab a coffee (semi trucks don't agree with a drive thru) , walked around to the window as a car was leaving and the attendant had a $5 bill in her hand , guy in the car had paid forward and it renewed my faith , 5 bucks could have been a 100 but it's the gesture that counts .

Not sure why that would trigger a need to tip over an address in a town?

Now if he had to deliver half a ton of groceries, to a 4th floor flat with no lift, I might consider it!

But a straightforward delivery.....naah nothing

Do you guys also tip the Postman, Couriers, or anybody else who delivers stuff to you?

Do you tip your Accountant or GP?

The only place in the UK where I tip is Restaurants (assuming its not already included). I’m not sure why the tipping culture seems to be spreading.

Are in the US?

We don’t feel the need to fall over ourselves and tip someone to bring our weekly shopping when we already pay a subscription for it and the driver gets a proper wage.

Christmas he can have one. Every week? No.

Zero. Tipping just encourages employers to pay badly. They should pay the wages not rely on you to top it up.
And why in particularly if you’re out in the sticks? Those guys probably do more driving and less carrying , so probably have it easier (relatively , I’m not suggesting it’s a skive before anyone jumps in me), than someone delivering to flats in a city centre.

For groceries none of them accept tips.

We live relatively close to a town but it's difficult to find and down a track so we go out of our way to be nice, give them a bit of cake every so often and for the bin men a bit more of a bribe

As a result they will take any old st every week and we don't have to drag our bins to the end of the road

So - no cash tips just be generally smiley (this is hard for me) and give them a bit of cake every so often.

Drove Asda home shopping vans whilst I was at uni. Tips were mostly £0 or varied between £1 & £2 or £5/£10 at xmas. Couple of personal favourites were Friday night tips of a 6 pack of beers or the time my delivery coincided with their takeaway - a large portion of chicken pakora.

Don't make it into a business transaction with all this talk of what % is acceptable, which suggests its obligatory and you'd really rather not pay. If that's the case, don't!

Tipping is not expected and should be done solely out of the goodness of your heart or for genuinely great service. When I worked in retail occasionally people would tip me for bring stuff to their car maybe a pound if you've got one lying around, fiver for great service if they were feeling generous or it's the holiday season. Being young helps I reckon, tipping someone 10 years older than you is always a bit awkward.

One strange but lovely electrician used to give me life advice and give me bags of fruit from his van, which was always knee-high in crap that had to be moved out the way to fit his building materials in.

All greatly appreciated!
