Lean journeys?
Discussion
Has anyone embarked on lean in the work place? Did you push for it with with superiors or did they start it?
Myself and the business manager are trying to implement this at work, we've started with a visual management board and a 20 minute meeting on Monday to go over the previous and current targets and a 5 minute meeting every morning to go over the days work.
The workers here like the meetings, the business manager likes it as she isn't spending an hour every morning checking whose done what and what needs to be done.
But the business owner isn't sold and thinks its a short term solution which we only need to do for a bit and the soon to start factory manager thinks it's a waste to have daily meetings.
How did you sway the naysayers?

Bit concerned the new factory manager thinks it's a waste to have daily meetings. Unless it's a very small factory then it's the only way to get an overview and spot challenges. Sure it needs to be short and focussed - 20 minutes would be ideal especially if it's supported by accessible data.

Have meetings if they're necessary, and not if they aren't.
5 mins a day seems tolerable to me, but I do wonder generally how much valuable workforce time is used up talking b
ks instead of doing something useful.
Paul Akers does 1-2 hours a day and reckons his staff get more done in 6 hours than they used to in 8. It costs him about $10k a week according to one of his videos. 5 mins a day seems tolerable to me, but I do wonder generally how much valuable workforce time is used up talking b
